Pre-registration DEADLINE Saturday May 24, 2008

YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY JUNE 1, 2008 IF THE WORKSHOP IS NOT OFFERED AND YOUR REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE REFUNDEDOtherwise, your pre-registration counts as your registration.  You will receive confirmation from MNCESR regarding workshop(s) you are confirmed in by mid-May, 2008.

Registration Fee Policy: The pre-registration period runs until May 24, 2008. Early registration helps determine interest in a particular workshop and whether it will be offered or not. Your paid registration will confirm your spot for sessions with limited space.

Registration fees for non-Great Falls Public School (GFPS) employees is $50.00 per day unless otherwise noted. (GFPS employees will still need to register to confirm their spots in the institute sessions). Please submit registration fees by July 1, 2008 to confirm your spot in the institute.  Any registrations after July 1, 2008 will need to include payment.  A letter will be mailed to you regarding your payment and confirmation in workshops by mid-July.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be requested by email or phone to the following person: sandy_bennet@gfps.k12.mt.us  406-268-6033
No refunds will be given for no shows, and non-payment does not constitute cancellation. You or your district will be invoiced for outstanding balances.
Full refunds will be granted for cancellations received by July 1, 2008.  A 50% fee will be assessed for cancellations received after July 1, 2008 until July 13, 2008.
NO
refunds after July 13, 2008.

Please pre-register for these workshops by May 24, 2008 so that we may determine interest in the workshops before final confirmation.

NOTE:  Registration for the GFPS Summer Institute Workshops will be accepted until the date of the Institute providing space is available.  


Credit Options

Participants have the choice of earning OPI Renewal units, college credits, or a combination of both. GFPS employees also have the choice of earning district PIR credits. See below.

OPI Renewal Units: Participants can earn up to 18 OPI renewal units (24 if also attending evening sessions) for the 3-day institute. 1 OPI Renewal unit = 1 hour of contact time. Final number of units will be awarded based on sign-in sheets and certificate labels provided at the end of each sectional. Any other question or detail regarding these units will be handled in accordance to the OPI Renewal Unit requirements.

College Credits: Participants needing continuing education credits will have the choice of either 1 or 2 credits for one low price of $120.00 payable to MSU- Northern.  Registration information and paperwork will be available on-site. *Note – these are Fall 2008 semester credits, which will not post until December 2008.

1 Credit Option – Participants will be required to attend 15 hours of contact time during the 3-day institute. (Remaining hours will be eligible or OPI renewal units: See above) Attendance will be confirmed through sign-in sheets and certificate labels provided at the end of each sectional. A final paper will be required (details to be provided at time of registration) and will be due to instructor by August 31, 2008.

2 Credit Option – Participants will be required to participate in 30 hours of contact time. The majority of this time will be awarded during the 3-day institute. Attendance will be confirmed through sign- in sheets and certificate labels provided at the end of each sectional. Remaining hours will be earned online through the participation in one of the MNCESR Online Book Symposiums. (Participants will purchase one of the approved books from the on-site bookstore sponsored by MASCD) A final project and all online participation time will be due by November 30, 2008.

GFPS District PIR Credits: GFPS employees can earn up to 12 District PIR Credits in addition to OPI renewal units.
